The loss of liberty doesn’t begin with invading armies, but with creeping government that slowly and almost imperceptibly invades our privacy with cameras, drones, wiretaps and monitoring of email communication. We are told this is for our own good. In this book John Whitehead sounds a warning about overreaching government we had better heed before the point of no return is reached.

There is 1% of the population that know what is going on. That is the wealthy that control Washington. There probably only very few of any of the of the rest of the people do. Those who are suspect of Washington don’t understand how pervasive it has become, right down the City level. The Constitution has been decimated.

We all know that Washington is totally corrupt but what we probably didn’t know is how pervasive corruption is at the State and City level. When you read this book you will be absolutely sick.

A quote from Mayor Michael Bloomberg sums it up

“I have my own army in the NYPD, which is the seventh biggest army in the world. I have my own State Department, much to Foggy Bottom’s annoyance. We have the United Nations in New York, and so we have an entrée into the diplomatic world that Washington does not have.”

Examples of local police action.

In 2010 300,000 schoolchildren received misdemeanor tickets. In New Mexico 90,000 were entered into the criminal justice system during 2009-2010 and over 500 were arrested in school. In Georgia a 6-year-old boy was arrested and, handcuffed and suspended for the remainder of the school year after throwing a temper tantrum in class.
